The Irish Blood Transfusion Service collects approximately 140,000 donations per annum in 8 separate clinics. The blood donations are collected from 5 of the collection clinics each evening and transported to the National Blood Centre and from the remaining 3 collection clinics are transported to the Munster Regional Transfusion Centre. These donations are then transported to the National Blood Centre. Samples and other materials associated with the blood donations are also transported in conjunction with the donations.
