7054 - Traction Motor Overhauls
This is a call to competition by IE for the procurement of Traction Motor Overhauls on a variety of different fleets across the IE network. The contracts will cover specialist engineering services on components deemed to be of a safety critical nature by the Safety Management System within the Chief Mechanical Engineering department [SMS-009]. The proposed works will be split into two separate contract lots, vendors can apply for one or both and are as follows:
· Lot One: This will cover the overhaul of traction motors from our 201 fleet. Including the rewind of 201 armatures.
· Lot Two: This will cover the overhaul of traction motors from our 071, 8100 and 8500 fleets.
All work will be undertaken strictly in line with OEM specifications below, however tenderers are cautioned not to rely solely on this information since equipment may have received modifications of improvement over time. Any differences identified between the OEM maintenance documentation and newer overhaul practices should be referred back to IE for approval. This will be done via the IE Engineering Change Process [CME-TMS-316]
The contract duration will initially be five year with an option to extend by a further two.
