To whom it may concern,
Beaumont Hospital intends to procure a Gamma counter. Interested parties are invited to consult the associated Invitation to Tender documentation, which contains full instructions regarding the preparation and submission of tenders. Following the supply, installation and commissioning of the equipment in question, the successful tenderer shall be required to enter into a support and maintenance contract for a period of five years. At the sole discretion of the Contracting Authority, this support and maintenance contract may be extended, at annual intervals, until the obsolescence of the equipment in question.
This competition is being conducted by Beaumont Hospital in order to fulfil a local requirement. However, in addition to the equipment procured by Beaumont Hospital, the HSE and other HSE-funded agencies shall be entitled to make purchases on foot of this competitive process by reference to the terms of the successful tenderer’s tender submission. This entitlement may be availed of for a period of four years from the date upon which the contract entered into between the successful tenderer and Beaumont Hospital commences.
This procurement process, therefore, is being conducted on behalf of the Irish Public Health System (HSE), organisations funded by the HSE and the Irish Public Sector. This contract is primarily on behalf primarily of the HSE and HSE funded organizations including all 49 Acute Hospitals in four HSE Regions nationwide. However, the attention of tenderers is drawn to the fact that the Irish Public Sector client base comprises Central Government Departments, Offices and Non-Commercial Agencies and organisations that have a formal reporting and legal relationship with these departments, including Local Authorities including Town Councils, Regional Assemblies, County Enterprise Boards and Libraries; Third level institutions (Universities, Institutes of Technology); VEC Schools, primary, post primary, special and secondary schools (the total number of schools is approximately 4 060); VECs acting on behalf of schools, groups and clusters of schools and youth centres; and the Security Sector (namely An Garda Siochána, the Defence Forces and the Irish Prison Service).
In the first instance, Beaumont Hospital will enter into a contract in its own right with the successful tenderer identified following this competitive process. Any further contracts awarded on foot of this competitive process are a matter for the successful tenderer and the relevant organisation making the purchase in question. No guarantee is offered, not should any such guarantee be inferred, regarding the volume of additional purchases to be made on foot of this competitive process.
