Call to competition for the overhauls of Electrical Rotating Equipment [7005]

 

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) has an operational fleet of trains comprising Locomotives, Electrical Multiple Units (EMU) and Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) and Intercity push pull trainsets equipped with a variety of electrically powered equipment grouped under the title Electrically Rotating Machines or “ERM”.

 

IÉ has a requirement to undertake planned overhaul work and casualty repair on the ERM. Overhaul and Repair is typically required, but not limited to, the following equipment:

 

  • Compressor: DART trains and Class 29000 DMU’s are fitted with electrically powered compressors to provide compressed air for braking systems, doors etc.
  • Motor for Cooling Fan: The cooling fans on Locomotives and generator cars are three phase AC machines driving extraction and cooling fans
  • Fuel Lift Pump Motor: Class 201 and Class 071 Locomotives are fitted with electrical pumps for transferring from fuel tanks to engine
  • Fan for Radiator: Class 2600 and 2800 DMU’s are fitted with 3 phase AC fans for drawing cooling air through a set of radiators
  • AC Aux Exciter Alternators (Aux-Gen): These are fitted to Class 071 and Locomotive Fleets the purpose of which to supply power to field coil in the main gen.


Fleet locations include: Dublin, Portlaoise, Limerick and Drogheda.


The Delivery and collection of the items for overhaul will be the responsibility of the vendor.
