Dear Tenderers,
RE: Request for Tenders for the Provision of Service Contract for Water Sampling & Analysis Study for the Environmental Protection Agency.
In anticipation of the requirements of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) Priority Substances Regulations SI. No. 386 of 2015, the Environmental Protection Agency wishes to tender for a Water Sampling and Analysis project to determine the likely presence or otherwise of the new substances listed in the Directive in the Irish aquatic environment. The results of this scoping programme will be used to determine what changes will need to be made to the EPA’s WFD monitoring programme.
This project proposes to undertake a monitoring programme to determine the presence or otherwise of these 11 of these 12 new substances in the Irish aquatic environment. (Dioxins are excluded as it is felt sufficient data already exists for the purpose of this exercise).
The results of this study will be used to determine what changes will need to be made to the EPA’s WFD monitoring programme. The project will assess the probable presence and extent or otherwise of the new substances and to use the results of this study to inform the extent of the EPA’s formal monitoring programme under the Water Framework Directive.
Scope of Work Required:
The proposed project is essentially in three parts:-
Water Samples are to taken at each of the 20 sites listed in Appendix 8 Sampling Sites.
There will be two rounds of sampling approximately July 2017 (Round 1) and October 2017 (Round 2). However there will be a review process after the results have been received from Round 1 which will provide an option to curtail , cancel or amend Phase 2.
