The Education Procurement Service (EPS) on behalf of Dublin City University (DCU) (the “Contracting Authorities”) invites tenders (“Tenders”) to this request for tenders (“RFT”) from economic operators (“Tenderers”) for the supply of the goods as described in Appendix 1 to this RFT (the “Goods”). Dublin City University Overview Dublin City University is growing! September 2016 saw the completion of the process by which St Patrick’s College Drumcondra (SPD), Mater Dei Institute (MDI) and Church of Ireland College of Education (CICE) were fully incorporated with DCU. From this date, all students and staff of St Patrick’s College, Mater Dei Institute and the Church of Ireland College of Education are students and staff of DCU. Two of the most significant changes arising from Incorporation are the establishment of a new Faculty of Education that will be known as the “DCU Institute of Education”, the first faculty of education in an Irish university and one of the largest in Europe; and an enhanced Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences which has a much broader array of subjects on offer. DCU now has a larger community and our multi campus university has a stronger, more visible, presence in North Dublin, underpinning our position as the most significant and comprehensive provider of University education on the rapidly growing and economically important Eastern corridor. St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra campus is now known as DCU - St Patrick’s Campus. All Hallows campus, also in Drumcondra, is now the third academic campus of DCU. This newly expanded DCU is well equipped to support its approximately 16,000 students with a continuing focus on personal, academic and professional life-skill development. Students will benefit from expanded services in counselling, work placement, careers, financial assistance, sports and health, chaplaincy and disability and learning support, and can avail of a new student centre (under construction) on the Glasnevin Campus and a new student health centre based on the St Patrick’s campus. Department Overview-Research and Innovation Research and Innovation at DCU stems from the academic excellence of its four faculties coupled with a passion for translating knowledge into innovations for economic or societal benefit. Beyond specific disciplinary research, DCU’s activities are focused on some of society’s most pressing needs:
Health technologies and the healthy and ageing society; Information technology and the digital society; Sustainable economies and societies; Democratic and secure societies.
These four hubs bring together world-leading multi-disciplinary teams of researchers, capable of addressing significant challenges to generate innovative solutions, and who have access to world-class infrastructure and facilities. The hubs provide the ecosystem that enables multi-disciplinary approaches to problem solving and solution generation.
Specification Overview DCU wishes to invite tenders for the provision an integrated X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscope (XPS) and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) system, which will be directly connected through an automated Sample Handler Module. A Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopy System, which can be used in conjunction with the integrated system, is also required. Each piece of the overall system must be supplied in accordance with the requirement specifications below.
This project is part funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). |

In summary, the Goods comprise: Click here to enter text. Tenderers may respond to Lots1-3 and Lot 4. Lots 1-3 must be from a single supplier as the requirement to have a fully integrated system which facilitates automated sample transfer between these Lots and the existing plasma etch and deposition systems is an essential requirement in order to undertake the planned research programmes.
