Leachate Removal East Galway - Removal and Transport of Leachate from East Galway Landfill to Various Treatment Facilities

Galway County Council are inviting tenders from licenced/permitted waste hauliers for the provision of the following service: Removal and transportation of leachate from East Galway landfill, Kilconnell, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway to various treatment facilities throughout the country. The leachate is collected and stored on site in a fully lined 3,500 cu.m lagoon. The leachate is pumped from the lagoon to a 500 cu.m concrete storage tank. Leachate is normally removed from the storage tank through a bauer connection for haulage off site. It can also be removed from the lagoon, using on-site pumps. Hauliers are advised to use vacuum tankers in case of downtime at the pumps. Only sealed tanker units, suitable for the transportation of liquid waste will be permitted to collect leachate from the landfill. All tankers must be integrity tested and proof is to be provided upon request by the Landfill Manager. A chemical analysis of the leachate can be made available upon request. The successful tenderers will fit appropriate signage to all vehicles carrying Leachate. The leachate will be required to be transported to any of the following facilities for treatment: 1) Enva Irl, Naas Road, Dublin; 2) Rilta Environmental Ltd., Rathcoole, Dublin; 3) Enva Irls, Shannon, Co. Clare; 4) Bunlicky WWTP, Dock Road, Limerick; 5) Ballinasloe WWTP, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway; 6) Loughrea WWTP, Loughrea, Co. Galway; 7) Claregalway WWTP, Claregalway, Co.
